Chair of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality Viacheslav Kyrylenko met with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors

Topical problems on language legislation and possible ways of its improvement were discussed at the meeting. Particularly, ways of cooperation between legislative bodies of Ukraine and the OSCE were determined.

Astrid Thors offered expert assistance in the sphere of linguistic rights of national minorities in elaboration of the new version of the law on development and use of languages in Ukraine.

Viacheslav Kyrylenko stressed that regulation of the language issue should be legal, well-balanced and should comply with norms of article 10 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
